The functional principle of automatic protective cover for swimming pools

All automatic swimming pool protection systems have the same basic design, consisting of flexible roofing material, winding drum, tracking system with rope drum, and drive.

The withdrawal of the cover material from the swimming pool is done by turning the drums wrapped around the cover while pulling the cover to the pool is done by turning a drum set that wraps the roof rope around. There are two main actuators for the automatic pool protection system; the first is driven by an electric motor and the second by hydraulic fluid.

The ropes and roofing material are fixed via multi-channel rails with a spool at one end. The rope is then fed through a pulley system which guides them to the coils to lift the rope.

There are two main actuators for the automatic pool protection system; The first is driven by an electric motor and the second by hydraulic fluid.

Electric Motors – Systems of this type are supported by several brands and sizes of electric motors positioned at the end of the drive mechanism. The gear motor rotates in the direction of the desired flap movement.

Directional shifting is performed with a simple set of reverse gears for the dog and a double gear. An adjustable torque limiter is used to limit tension on the system at the travel end of the cover as well as the brake sensor.

The electric motors used by manufacturers today have been specially developed for this application and are fully immersible, leaving the motor with water damage in the past.

Hydraulic Fluid Drive – This type of system is controlled by the hydraulic fluid pressure generated by a hydraulic pump which is usually located on the bearings of the pool equipment.
